Built on Chevy’s small sedan platform that produced the popular Cobalt, the 2006 Chevrolet HHR comes fitted with the same transmission, suspension and engine that comprised the best features of the Cobalt.
The 2006 HHR is available in three variants – the LS, the 1LT and the 2LT. There are two engine choices. The LS offers a standard 2.2 liter V-4 Ecotec engine that produces 143 hp, while you can get the more powerful 2.4 liter V-4 Ecotec engine that produces 172 hp with ease. All models incorporate a five speed manual transmission, but buyers can choose to install a four-speed automatic if they like.
You can add some nifty features like rear curtain airbags, front airbags, ABS and remote starting, depending on the model and add-ons purchased. Interiors Are nice, and the dash is big and wide in the front. The 2006 Chevrolet HHR achieves better than average fuel economy, and is a nice ride.
